Company Letterhead

Keep the color scheme consistent, I really wanted something unusual, simplistic, yet classy to represent the company as a letterhead. The watermark in the center with a fade to about 25% was exactly what I was looking for!

Business Cards

This is a front and back copy of the Icing Cupcake Shop and Bakery Business Card. When designing this business card, I wanted to keep the business's image in mind. Something simple, yet classy and edgy. I definitely wanted an unusual card and that is why I ended up with the 2x2 shape. Overall, I really like the idea of this card.

Business Card Brainstorming

When I sat down to begin brainstorming and sketching ideas for my company business card, I started with one idea, and then decided on exactly how I want to make the business card. This is why you will notice the first sketch is completely different from every other similar image on the page. I have a really good friend who is a graphic design major at USM and he has always been a big promoter of unusual business cards. That is why I have chose to sketch a 2x2 business card.

Corporate Identity Questionaire

Corporate Identity Questionaire

Corporate Identity Questionaire (Due 10/17)

1) What is your business?
Ex: We make shoes.
This is a Cupcake and Bakery Shop.

2) Describe your business in one sentence
Ex: We make quality skates for professional and casual skaters.
We bake delicious sweets for people of all ages! However, we would like to be well-known as a higher-end establishment.

3) Who is your target audience?
Ex: Skaters. Professional skaters. Families. Teenagers. Casual skaters. Athletes. Men. Women.
Families. Anyone who enjoys treating themselves to some of our baked goods every now and then.

4) Who are your competitors?
Ex: Skaters Choice Skate Shop, SPoT Skate Shop, Skate America
The Cupcake Spot, A Piece of Cake, and Sweeties Delights Bakery

5) What makes them better/worse than your product/service?
Ex: Skaters Choice Skate Shop site doesn’t work right now. SPoT Skate Shop sells shoes, clothes and skateboards, nothing for regular skates. Skate America’s site is currently being redone so all you can do is sign up for their email listing. None of these are ideal for buying skates, skate parts or customizing skates online.
Sweeties doesn't even have a website. The Cupcake Spot is actually a very cute place and they have a very great website. They will be our biggest competition. However, our cupcake shop will be a more trendy company.

6) Do you currently have an identity? (This is more for companies that are already established and you’re just revamping the logo/corporate identity. If you have a new company or product, skip this question.)
SKIP

7) (If your answer to #6 is no, skip this question) What do you like about it and what don’t you like about it?
Why is this important? Even if you plan to change the logo entirely, it’s good to keep an inventory about what specifically worked and didn’t work about your previous design in order to inform the new one.
SKIP

8) How do you want your image to be seen in two years?
Ex: We want this company to be seen as a place you can trust for high quality, custom skate parts.
Why is this important? This is something that you will have to portray in your corporate identity.
We want our store to be seen as the city’s premier baked goods headquarters. A place with class, that has extremely knowledgeable staff, a very edgy/trendy atmosphere, and nothing but the best baked goods that are made with only the finest ingredients.

9) If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?
Ex: A cheetah, because our skates are fast, dynamic, and exciting.
A peacock. The peacocks beautiful design has always been found around the world’s upper-class. It is something that can be used to portray our image.

10) If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?
Ex: Apolo Ohno, because he is a famous, record-breaking Olympic speed skater who’s also young, fun and trend setting.
It would be one of the Olsen Twins. They represent America’s trendy Pop Culture today and have been around since the beginning of my generation. They are pretty, fashionable, and even have a little bit of faults that keep them human.

11) If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?
Ex: A pair of fancy speed skates.
Something as simple as a cupcake. Perhaps a cookie or cake.

12) If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?
Ex: Streex, from Street Sharks. He’s constantly wearing rollerblades, enjoys extreme sports and is the token ‘cool’ guy.
It would be a fancy lady. Someone like Cruella Deville from 101 Dalmations (minus the poor attitude of course) Fur coats. Sexy.

Dear John....

"I took your matches
Before fire could catch me
So don’t look now
I’m shining like fireworks
Over your sad empty town" -Taylor Swift

In this collage assignment I began with a basic picture of a small town. From that picture, I erased the sky and put another picture of a burning city in the background. I place a picture of Taylor Swift swinging around a pole in the front of the picture, and then blurred out everything in the collage but Taylor Swift to ensure all focus on her. I used the burn tool to create darker areas of shadow to create more fluidity in the collage.

Photoshop Self-Insertion

This is where I should be right now. Going on vacation now. Oh, look. I am there. In the bottom left hand corner! ;)
